Who is The
Melanoma Education Foundation?
The Melanoma Education Foundation
is a non-profit organization devoted to saving lives
from melanoma, a common skin cancer that is often
deadly unless detected early before there are any
symptoms.
How this website came to
be
Saxtown.com was
born as Amanda's first attempt to build a website
about her husband (Michael) and his music. Michael
plays the Tenor Saxophone and Town- They call him
Downtown Michael Brown or Town for short. As Amanda
taught herself web publishing, slowly but surely it
started to turn into something. Then she was diagnosed
with Cancer...
"We had so many concerned friends and family
calling when we received my Melanoma diagnosis that
it was overwhelming. Their concern was heartwarming
on one hand but on the other, it was taking up a lot
of my energy sharing the same news with everyone call
after call. That's when I decided to add a page about
our news so everyone could check my condition, results
etc. at any time just by going to the web and they'd
have the latest update. This has given me peace in
my heart to know that everyone won't worry as much
if they are informed on my progress. Plus it saves
me energy so I can focus on healing. I try to keep
the site updated weekly."
We have had numerous people telling
us how reading about Amanda's experiences and updates
have given them continued hope, inspiration and strength
through their own journey or their loved one's battle
with Cancer. It is only through God's grace that Amanda
was able to share her life with you. Amanda gave God
all the glory and felt honored and humbled to be chosen
by him to share his love and healing through her life
experiences.
